Now this is pretty cool. Lego has had Minstorm products for years and they’ve always been neat for those wanting to put their Legos into motion. The EV3 takes things a step further and allows you to control your creation wirelessly via your iOS or Android device. On top of that, as you can see in the video, infrared sensors can be used to make a cobra strike a person that happens to be in front. The kit, which includes the EV3 and bricks to build all the creations in the video, retails for $350 in its commercial variety. However, Lego is also marketing this to educators for use in junior-high or robotics/engineering classrooms. That kit also includes lessons and tutorials to give students some additional information on how their creations work. As someone that has always loved Legos, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this when it is released sometime this summer.
